How Language Support Transformed Jake’s Journey
Jake grew up supporting his family as the informal “translator,” stepping in whenever neighbors, parents, or community members needed language help. He had the heart for the work but never saw a pathway to turn that ability into a real skill — or a career.
When Jake joined our interpreter pathway, He brought determination but very little formal training. Through structured guidance, mentorship, and real-world practice, he began developing the confidence and clarity needed to support others in complex situations.
Today, Jake supports local families as a trained community interpreter. He continues building his skills and now mentors others who are starting their own pathway. His work is expanding the impact of language access across his community — one conversation at a time.
